Abstract: 

In this paper, a new free online seismic database is presented. The database has 15 seismological and 26 deducted engineering parameters to search for available records for Structural seismic analysis. As known, the selection and scaling of seismic records acquire primary importance in seismic analysis. Moreover, the application and development of Performance-Based Earthquake Engineering (PBEE) implies nding records in di erent levels of the return period. This is a time-consuming and cumbersome procedure and the whole process is a ected by great randomness. A database with speci c parameters that permits nding best suited records would prove very useful. As a consequence, the randomness both in the seismic action and in the results of the dynamic behavior of the structure can be strongly reduced. This is the objective of the new database. In this work, the authors describe the new database and develop a numerical application with 3 di erent bins of parameters of selection for records and results of Structural analyses. The great usefulness of the database is shown.

Abstract: 

Competition law is a newcomer to the legal system recently. A sound understanding of competition policy can provide us with sufficient bases to apply a fundamental and normative view of the issues of competition law. The difference in supervision and regulation determines how the market functions and in order to understand this difference one must understand competition policy. Competition policy may be based on governmental support for national production and industry or on a non-interventional and regulatory posture. Moreover, supervision, based on the principle of non-intervention in the market mechanism, is rooted in liberal ideas; however, regulation, whether as a rule or an exception, is based on the assertion that the market has been ineffective in attaining its goals. Therefore, the government will resort to interventions to regulate inefficiencies.  This paper aims to analyze Supervisory Authority in Implementing Competitive Policy by employing the description method. In this article the author tries to first delineate competition policy, its related requirements and imposed deviations to the market. Then, by defining the supervisory entity and clarifying its distinction from the regulatory institutions, the author considers the characteristics of an appropriate supervisory entity conducting a comparative study of this issue in Iran and the U.S.A. This form of Competition policy because of its applicable experiences which have been well described by recent scholarship is considered suitable for the native system.

Abstract: 

In order to survive in the complex environment, budget programming or forecasting models have been criticized as inadequate for today’s business environment. Organizations have to use strategic planning to evaluate internal and external situation, then formulate proper strategies and implement them. The key to execute strategy is to have people in the organization understand it. Strategy map has a significant role in the strategic management due to describing strategies of organization and to help people understand strategies. Strategy map is essentially a graphical depiction of the causal model of an organization’s strategy then developing the causal model of the strategy is also important. This paper presents innovative approach to determine causal relationship and levels of strategic objectives in strategy map. For this purpose an interpretive Structural modeling (ISM) based approach has been employed to strategy map. This paper also utilizes the Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) methodology to understand the interrelationships among the objectives so that those driving objectives, which can affect others and those dependent objectives, which are most influenced by driving objectives are identified. It emphasizes that interrelationship among objectives isn’t only down to up, it is on both side. An actual example of a small case pipe and fittings manufacturing company provides some managerial insights into the methodology.

Abstract: 

Facilities built in areas affected by earthquake activity, such as tunnels, which have always been an integral part of human life, must withstand both dynamic and static loading. It has led to the need for practical studies on the effects of earthquakes on underground structures and the factors affecting their destruction. For this purpose, in this research, at first different patterns of tunnel’s excavation were investigated and by using Plaxis 2D software and based on Tabas earthquake in Iran, sensitivity analysis on geotechnical parameters of the soil surrounding tunnel such as cohesion, friction angle, unit weight and modulus of elasticity was carried out, and the parameters whose changes have the greatest and least effects on the bending moment changes on the tunnel lining are introduced. The results show that tunnel excavation patterns significantly affect the bending moment, axial forces, displacements, and surface settlement of the tunnel. Often, by dividing tunnel excavation area to small parts, the values of bending moment, axial forces, displacements, and surface settlement of the tunnel decreases in static analysis. Also, outputs of sensitivity analysis on geotechnical parameters of the soil surrounding tunnel showed that modulus of elasticity of the soil surrounding tunnel has the most effect and cohesion changes have the least effect on bending moment induced on tunnel lining..

Abstract: 

In this article, the effect of growth parameters on Structural properties of TiO2 nanowires, synthesized by thermal evaporation process, have been studied. The nanostructures are characterized by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray spectroscopy. Our synthesized TiO2 nanowires were found, through X-ray diffraction measurements, to be crystalline rutile TiO2. We studied the effect of growth parameters such as the deposition temperature, the system pressure, and carrier gas flow on the growth and structure of our synthesized nanowires. It was found that their growth was governed by vapor–liquid–solid mechanism because of using Au catalyst. In this mechanism, the Ti layer deposited on the substrate diffused in to the solid Au catalyst; then, a liquid alloy of Au-Ti was formed to serve as preferred sites for the growth of TiO2 nanowires.

Abstract: 

This study aimed to estimate the genetic parameters of body weight traits in Markhoz goats, using B-spline random regression models. The data used in this study included 19549 records collected during 29 years (1992-2021) in Markhoz goat Breeding Research Station, located in Sanandaj, Iran. The model used to analyze data included fixed effects (year of birth, sex, type of birth and age of dam) and random effects including direct additive genetic, maternal additive genetic, permanent environmental and maternal permanent environmental assuming homogeneous and heterogeneous residual variance during the time. Akaike (BIC) and Bayesian (BIC) information criteria were used to compare the models and bspq.4.4.4.4 was selected as the best model. The direct heritability values for birth, 3-month, 6-month, 9-month and 12-month weights were estimated to be 0.14, 0.16, 0.08, 0.28 and 0.26, respectively. Genetic correlation between body weights at birth and 3-month, birth and 6-month, birth and 9-month, birth and 12-month, 3-month and 6-month, 3-month and 9-month, 3-month and 12-month, 6-months and 9-month and 9-month and 12-month were 0.22, 0.38, 0.21, 0.56, -0.26, 0.30, 0.62, 0.86 and 0.77, respectively. The highest phenotypic correlation was between the weight of 9-month and 12-month (0.82) and the lowest correlation was between birth weight and 3-month and 6-month (0.12). The results showed that the 9-month weight is a good criterion for selection in Markhoz goats.

Abstract: 

Nanocomposite materials have recently attracted increasing interests in the field of modeling. Finite element modelling can be used for computation of bulk properties of polymer/clay nanocomposites. In this study, by considering the structure of a nano-composite material, a quasi real model is proposed. The model has been used to predict the elastic constants by selection of suitable elements and boundary conditions. The effects of nano-Structural parameters on the mechanical properties of a polymer/clay nano-composite are studied. The geometrical overlap of particles, horizontal distance between particles, length of particles and nano-clay volume fraction are defined as functions of the nano-Structural parameters and their effects on mechanical properties of nano-composites are studied by a finite element modelling technique.

Abstract: 

In this paper, we have calculated the InAs Structural parameters such as lattice constant, bulk modulus and its derivative, stability and density state in zincblende and wurtzite phases. The calculations have been performed using pseudopotential method in the framework of density functional theory by Espresso package. The calculated Structural parameters are in good agreement with experimental results. The results showed that zincblende phase is more stable than wurtzite phase and InAs in zincblende and wurtzite phases is a narrow gap semiconductor. Also, the results of the contribution of different orbitals show that in the conduction band, there is a strong overlap between p orbitals of In and As atoms and the orbital s of In, while at the top of the valence band, the overlap of p orbitals of In and As atoms is predominant.
